Help please!

I am a CC student and have my heart completely set on the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and I think I have a really good chance of getting in when I apply for fall '10. However, I do not know the best way of getting. Should I apply as an easier major and then change my major when I'm in the school? My intended major is computer science but since I won't have completed all the pre-requisites for computer science, I was thinking about applying as an easier major like philosophy. Does anyone have any advice for me? To qualify as a philosophy major, a student needs only one transferable course and a 2.7 gpa according to the Illinois transfer handbook.

Current GPA: 3.25

Graded transferable credits: 28

[projected stats after this fall semester]
Projected GPA:3.4-3.5
Graded transferable credits: 44

anyone please?

bump… really looking for answers

Just contact the college and see if it’s possible to change majors after matriculating as a transfer (I believe some don’t allow this). I think you’d be losing credits since some of the classes that you’re taking now may not all transfer and switching to computer science will undoubtedly require you to take more courses to fulfill the degree requirements.

I have tried to contact so many people, but I never get a clear cut answer.
