what kinda SAT score should i aim at?

improve the verbal and writing a lot. what should you aim at? as high as possible.

what r my chances at cornell?

with higher SAT scores and a killer essay, you've got a shot. looking at this, maybe you could write about your art talent and experiences. maybe you've got something else great going for you. I don't know. It's cool that you're fluent in two other languages. i'll try to help however I can.

thank u! ^^

i take it you immigrated from some primarily non-english speaking asian country, so the verbal and writing scores are understandable. You don't have the option to take TOFEL or anything do you? I dunno how that goes, but anyway, a good essay could get you in, depending on your department. What do you want to study?

i used to want to study medicine but right now its undecided. but i am looking into comercial design, interior design and i am interested in hotel management (which i know what cornell is famous for)

are you from taiwan? me too! are you an international? if you are, i think you would need to take the TOEFL if SAT verbal is not above 670, and there's a minimum for TOEFL as well i think. I guess anything above 670 if considered okay, but this is what they expected on the SAT verbal or II writing.

what is the min for toefl?

if you don't have a hospitality background (work in hotel, country club, restaurant, real estate office) hotel is supposed to be really really hard to get into.

i think it's 550?

i volunteer at the hospital giftshop does that count? its pretty much like working in a normal store but i just dont get paid.

having a job and working in the hospitality industry, though not mutually exclusive, can be very different things. Even though you might help people find stuff in the store, that's really not the same as a service type job such as a bellboy or waitress.

lets not confuse hospital and hospitality ;) sorry sorry horrible joke!
