i want to major in a field that will lead me to genetics. what college could help me to achieve this?

For undergrad, I would think that one of the biology majors would do it - there are many schools with good programs. If you google for college major + genetics, you might come up with a few that have specific undergrad programs. This site might help you find more info on majors/careers in genetics:

Do you want to become a genetics research scientist or a physician who specializes with genetics?

Genetics is a grad or med program. It’s not really an undergrad program. Typically, a person has his undergrad in some kind of biology or chemistry and then studies genetics in grad school or med school or beyond.

So, most schools with strong bio and chem classes will get you ready for the next step…

You should major in biology or biological sciences and then go to graduate school to become a research geneticist. Most major national universities offer biology as a possible undergraduate concentration. You have to narrow down your search by being more specific on what kind of school you would like to attend (e.g. in terms of selectivity, price tag, location, student body size, private/public status, research opportunities, etc.).

thank you all!!
