For reasons explained [thread=872349]here[/thread], it would make my life a lot easier if I did NOT get into Brown. Can someone please chance my probability of being rejected? Their 8-9% acceptance rate gives me hope, but you can never be too careful :|

Your SAT/ACT/GPA is really good. I’m sorry, but you have a great chance at being accepted at Brown. Perhaps you has bad teacher recommendations? (This would not be plausible as you got into University of Chicago and Colgate, I would assume though.)

Check back on your Brown supplement and hope your grammar was horrible. Or perhaps request and interview and completely bomb it!

I’m sorry too, but I think you will get in. Please know that this isn’t a reflection on you as a person, it’s just that Brown has many worthy applicants who would like to be rejected and they can’t possibly accomodate them all. They simply need to admit a certain number of students. Good luck in your quest to be rejected from the other schools that you don’t want to go to.

If you really have no intention of going to Brown, you should seriously call them up and have them withdraw your app. Essentially, if you get in, you’re just stealing someone’s spot. There are people out there who are working hard and hoping to actually get into Brown, and if you get in over them, you’re robbing them of their hard work. If you’re not being serious, that’s cool, but if you are, then you should really see if you can withdraw your app, or you could send some vicious hate mail to Brown’s admissions office or something.

Don’t worry. If you decline, someone on the waitlist will go on. That person will be super happy. you’re not “taking anyone’s spot” by not withdrawing.

By the way, you have a solid chance at getting in. It’s a high match, so i’d say 20% rejection. Sorry.

Luckily for you one of your AP scores was a 4 and you missed 2 points on the ACT so you have absolutely no chance of getting in. Congrats you have no chance of getting in without absolutely perfect scores. And I see you only have 6 EC’s, Brown only accepts kids with 500 or more community service hours so you’ll be fine!
