help pls

<p>hey! im a junior...just wanted to know what colleges you think would be a good match for me. </p>

<p>i really like...diverse places. i live on the east coast,and would be happy staying here (i think), but california also looks nice. i like the city, but i also like school that have their own campuses/collegetowns. im thinking of majoring in a science field. i also enjoy languages. </p>

<p>my cumulative gpa will be a- or a. near the top of my class...but not the top top probably. </p>

<p>sats? got a 1390..took it again today. hope i did better. 720 on sat ii united states history. 5 on exam </p>

<p>awards? history award in ninth grade, science award in tenth, gold medal national latinexam</p>

<p>ecs? volunteered at a nursing home, member of a community service club, run track all years in high school--won many awards and such</p>

<p>i also want to get involved in some research...anyone know how?</p>

<p>for research, ask ur teachers, or look up online for local research insititutions near ur house. choose a mentor, contact them and then see if u can intern in their lab</p>

<p>Will you have the change to visit schools this spring? You could look at a variety of schools in one area to better understand the type of school you like. For example, in the Boston area you could look at Boston University, Brandeis, Providence, and UMass Amherst. Colby and Conn College are LAC's that would likely be matches. Once you have an idea of the type of school you like, you can focus on similar types of schools in other areas.</p>
