lol. talk to them about me, lmao! 12 SATs should get the ball rolling...

is he naked all the time? if so, ask him to put something on - or change roomates..

"he told me that the only reason he was here was cuz he wanted to hang out with his buddy, who is also in the program"

Sounds like he has no interest in being friendly, and you're wasting your time if you keep trying to get him to talk. Instead of wasting time with him, start hanging out with some others in the program.

Is he walking around and sleeping naked? I suggest asking him to cover up because you find his lack of clothing embarrassing. You aren't being a prude to say this. He is being crass. Frankly, the guy sounds like a jerk and I feel sorry for your having to spend so much time with him.

Since he wants to be with his buddy, is it possible for you and his buddy to switch rooms? That might make everyone happy.

I think it's time to step out of the comfort zone and enter the real world. I think you'll just have to make it work. It's an opportunity for personal growth.

^ yup. .

OMG OMG OMG DEBATE ADDICT!!!!! THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT!!!!!

...............

WE HAVE THE SAME BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Same year and everything!

I checked your profile 'cause you said you were an international student but you didn't say from which country, so I went to check and August 13, 1990!!!!

I just thought that was awesome! :D

In case you didn't know, we also share the same B-day with Fidel Castro. Were you born with certain dictator traits?

That's pretty close-minded of you to not associate with your roommate because he is a "jock." No wonder they left you alone in the room.

^^rofl /yay for stupid dictators/

alot of people whose ec activities or interests are not compatible have hard times getting along. It's perfectly natural. I for one, dislike sports with every fibre of my being, and thus have difficulties with jocks because our interests are far from the same. That's why people are always looking for people who have "things in common with them".

So, you're at a camp on diplomacy?

I am far from a diplomacy expert, but don't diplomats have to get along with people even if they don't like those on the other side? Bush and Blair probably had to talk to that Iran guy. I'd say it's a good opportunity to practice that. Try to get along even if you don't like him.

great advice jenkster

Hehe, I try. :)

I'm fine actually.
I got to know other ppl who were really cool, and we formed this group that we call (no comment plz:)) the geek squad....
it's cool

^hey I have my own personal geek squad! (well they don't really know it yet but...)

this thread reminded me of
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SujNwATlxYk

Sometimes playing your favorite music while they're in the room can exchange a conversation about the song/artist. Also have some of your books or magazines lying around. Again by them seeing it, may spark a conversation based on their same interest. Same goes for posters/pictures.

I've only had a roommate once so far. it was for a summer program four years ago, and it did not go well. she ended up moving in with some other people. so needless to say, I'm pretty nervous about college.

solved the issue

how so?.........

had an orgy?
