Help Plz! I don't want my acceptance to be canceled to CAL!

Thank you for reading this.

A month ago, I was delighted and surprised to see the acceptance to CAL. My school GPA was never that great(3.4) and I was probably admitted because of my self-studied APs and essay.

Last week, when I clicked to submit my Statement of Intent to Register, it states “an overall unweighted B average for each term and no grade lower than a C” as a senior year gpa requirement. I have 5 B and 1 C (2APs), which disqualifies me from admission.

I plan to talk to my teachers into giving me chance of doing extra-credit to up my last semester’s grades tomorrow. But the chances are slim.

What should I do??? Is the requirement “absolutely required”? Can i submit statement of intent to two UCs?(my counselor told me that it’s doable for separate colleges, but are UC all connected?) What will happen if i tell CAL about my grades? Please. Someone shed some light upon this!

Thank you so much!

get your grades back up man, that's all i know, i think you can also write a good letter to the admissions office explaining to them why you didn't get good grades this semester and that can possibly save you...but best bet is to get your grades up and seriously brown nose some teachers

ty for the reply. I am going to do what you said. The current problem is that May 1st is the deadline for submitting statement of intent. I don't want to take risk on my letter's persuiation power, so the IMMEDIT question is that:

Can i submit statement of intent to 2 UCs?
Or "UCs" talk to each other and will find out and act upon my "sneaky" action?

wait... 5 Bs and 1 C... you can have 2 Cs per semester isn't it? it said no grades lower than a C but a C is not lower than a C (try to say that 10 times fast lol) and on some of the admission contracts it said something about 3.0 unweighted GPA does each class on unweighted go on a 4.0 scale or a 5.0 scale?
also for sending sir to 2 UCs, they are made 100 dollars each so you are likely to send to one due to cost... but I heard it is possible to send to both but I think all UCs require a 3.0 avg...

do not submit a sir into two uc's they talk to eachother..

from what I read...you arent disqualified. Unless I missed something, the minimum grade you need is a C (that's what the passage said), and you have a C. You are not lower than the requirement so you are fine.

...am I missing something?

yeah, that's below a 3.0, get your grade up

DEFINATELY don't submit two SIRs.

You still have more than a month, you can get a C up

If any of the B's are close to an A, talk to those teachers first and explain your situation so you can maybe do something extra to push it over to an A.

you can submit your SIR, and get your grades up, and be fine. your transcript doesn't get sent in untill after you graduate.

Thank you very much for all the replies :)

Wait, a 3.4. How good were your essays and SAT. How many APs and ECs.

Anyways, just try to up your grades.

An overall unweighted B average would be a 2.6 to a 3.4-yes? and 5 B's--at 3.0 and one C at 2.0 is a 2.8+. So the way I figure your unweighted term average is a B/B- and with 5 B's and one C you still sqeek by--yes?

punk is correct---apply to just one--as you obviously can't be in two places at one time---and work on getting an A--or raising your C to a B---you certainly have an incentive! You can do this---just BREATHE

It doesn't matter if you submit SIR to two UCs because the UCs have the same policy, so if you get your acceptance to Berkeley rescinded it will happen with the other UC too. But the bottom line is don't submit two SIRs (you're not allowed to). Anyway, I'm not sure how stringent they are on that policy. They might just let you slip by. Try to get them up in the meantime.

don't submit 2 sir's. a friend of mine was told by an admissions officer that you could end up getting rejected to both UC's!!

Okay, with the SIRs, you can accept one SIR but if you decide to go to another univeristy after May 1st, you lose your deposit and you have to pay another one. That is what the admissions website said.
