<p>SAT's will hurt you at most of those schools. Retakke the SAT's, try to get everything to the 700 level if possible.</p>

<p>on your essay, play up the fact that you are persian and multiculural and how that might contribute to your future line of work or something that stresses you are different

<p>zoolander - persians are mideastern, not really an URM at schools like nyu. Unless you're black/hispanic, being a minority doesn't help, especially if you're asian. and she didn't say she was multicultural. It would be different if she was an international student from Iran or something.</p>

<p>though I am hesitant to agree with those above w/ your SAT scores, it never hurts to take them again to see what is your highest combination. Focus on your essays, remember, everyone who is applying to those schools will have similar gpa, sats, ap scores, and ec's. most admissions officers want to get to know the student, and see what you could bring to the university. hope that helps!</p>

<p>I agree that the SAT I scores might hurt you the most because everything else looks great. The essays on the NYU app are really important, so make sure you add your personality and stand out from the crowd who is probably equally qualified academically.</p>

<p>does NYU take into considertation how many ap's and honors are offered by your school? im kinda worried now, since my schools didnt offer near the number that i have seen from some people on this board. </p>

<p>Bigbom654- from what I recall, I believe your school will send a sheet along with your application that lists all of the offered courses.</p>

<p>Aztennisplaya1- you have a relatively solid chance, just write a unique essay to set yourself apart and bump up your SAT scores- DO NOT write your essay about being Persian- there are sooo many Persians here (myself included), so you really wouldn't be much of a minority here. Good luck =)</p>
