Help: Prom dresses

I've decided to plan ahead to buy my prom dress kind of early, because I'm the type of person who would probably wait until the last minute to buy it, so if I start thinking about it now, it would save me a lot of stress when the time comes. I've already googled up "prom dresses" and "prom gowns", but I could not find any dresses that I really liked. I was wondering if you all had suggestions for stores, boutiques, and websites that have personally worked for you or others that you know?? Thanks in advance!!

BCBG is my favorite place for dresses

Is this for next year?

Go vintage shopping (either at a store or online and invest in tailoring)! That's what I hope I can do next year..like, a cute 50s tea-length dress with peep-toed shoes, pearls, and a little clutch. I hope I can find something, though, because I'm really picky--no beads/sequins at all anywhere on the dress. And probably not strapless, because that's kind of overdone..

Yeah, this is for next year. I know that I'm going to be extremely busy with college applications, filling out scholarships, and my extracurriculars to the point that I would probably put off buying the dress until last minute, so I'm planning right now for it. Thanks for the suggestions!! Keep them coming.

my date got hers from BCBG last year it was nice

haha i'm not old enough for prom yet, but i do use prom dresses for piano recitals and stuff... and i know this is kinda... cliche? but like once or twice macys, bloomingdales or lord and taylors has amazing dresses... just they're not so one-of-a-kind... :)

jessica mcclintock has amazing dresses. except i regret spending 300$ on my dress because it has never left my closet since prom, so i feel like it's pointless now.

jessicamcclintock.com

I had mine made. Best investment I ever made. If your going shopping for dresses please FOR THE LOVE OF GOD do something orginal! There is nothing worse then showing up to prom and seeing the same dress/color/style of dress on six different girls. Whatever you pick make sure it reflects your own personal style. AND you dont have to spend a small fortune on a prom dress to look fabulous!

Both last year and this year I spent around 3 hours at the mall and tried on a HUGE amount of dresses in that time. But I ended up both times with dresses from Cach

Actually, I have thought about the basic things. I want a creame, black,or red dress. I want it to go past my knees, but I want it to have a long slit to the side. I want a very low V back. No halter top dresses, no strapless dresses, no empire waist line dresses, and no A line dresses. Basically elegant, sleek, bold, and sexy is what I'm looking for.

I will check out the websites and designers you all have suggested. Thanks you all for the advice!
