Since there isn’t a place to select which Brown prompt you’re writing about should I inlclude it at the top of my essay? My essay is under 500 words but with the prompt it’s over, do you think this would be a problem?

Thanks!

i believe the word limit is a suggestion, but you could try putting the letter of your topic instead.

It says “we PREFER that you limit your response to 500 words maximum”
it’s not gonna kill you if you go over by 5 or so
I didn’t write the prompt, but I still went over by 7 words or so (because of my ~15 word title lol)

I glanced at it when I submitted it and I’m pretty sure I didn’t see anything cut out so…don’t worry too much

I went forty words over. I don’t think it’s a big deal. I also didn’t put my topic at all. They’ll probably be able to tell from the essay. Or hopefully they would.

They said on the admissions blog that it’s fine to be over the limit if it’s worth reading.

They won’t mind if your essay is over because of the prompt.
