<p>I'm currently a senior in high school and I've been accepted to both Penn State and University of Michigan. I double deposited because I can't decide and I still can't. I'm in Kinesiology (Movement Science) at Michigan and I'm in bioengineering at Penn State. I know that Penn State's engineering is 17th in the nation but I didn't apply for engineering at Michigan. And I doubt I would be able to get in even if I did go to Michigan. Either way I'm unsure of what I want to do but I think I want to go to grad/or med school. I'm not sure if the Kensiology program is good as the rest of Michigan but I've heard that it's the easiest to get into for undergrad. I also know that I have greater flexibility at PSU because I can always switch majors but I'm stuck in Kines at Michigan, but I talked to the admissions and they said I can switch to a bio major if I really wanted to. Please help me decide!!</p>
<p>Are you planning to be a PE coach? Kinesiology is generally regarded as a “jock” major. It should not be regarded as “Bioengineering Lite.”</p>
<p>No offense, but I don’t think I would recommend paying out of state tuition at UMich for a Kinesiology degree. Even the most educated PE coach is not making much. Bioengineering at Penn State is obviously more useful, but it’s NOT going to be an easy degree to complete.</p>
<p>Well if I went to Michigan I would def go to grad school or med school. Apparently many people in my major go to grad school with it. It just scares me that there’s no guarantee that I wont be able to switch to the bio major but apparently they said that I can.</p>
<p>My D has friends that are majoring in Kinesiology as the pre-med undergrad degree for Physical Therapist. I would check with the admissions office to see what they recommend for an undergrad degree for med school. I think most people major in Biology, though.</p>
<p>xcrunner: Movement Science Kinesiology is becoming a very popular pre-med track at Michigan. </p>
<p>FYI Sweetheart: At Michigan, Kinesiology is not just a department in the Phys Ed curriculum. There is an independent School of Kinesiology, with several tracks. The most common is Movement Science. </p>

<p>Lots of kids in my daughter’s Kinesiology-Movement Science major at Penn State are also on the pre-med/health sciences track. You do have to fill in some prerequisites that aren’t offered in the major.</p>
