If I send my application/supplement online, how do I send in the research abstract? Is there some way to send that online too? Do I send it in extra information? Or snail mail? Thanks!

snail mail it

On the Yale Supplement, check "Other" for sending in additional materials. Then mail it using the good ol' U.S. Postal Service.

thanks! also, where do I go to send the app fee online?

ok... figured out where to submit the fee... how do I know for sure if it got through? my checklist didn't indicate that it did...

How do you KNOW that the colleges received your app fee, and how do you know they received your application itself? R there any confirmations?

You can ask for a confirmation receipt when you mail it from the post office. You know that they received your application and fee when they email you telling that your file has been opened. They will not open your admissions file until they receive your fee.

thanks beechbum114 but suppose i submit online and not through postoffice, the common app and supplements through their links provide confirmation? Also, if I submitted essays online but the appearance is not good, no italics, can't double space, can't indent for paragraphs, etc., can I still snail mail another copy of my essays 1.5 spaced to colleges? Would it be advised?

I don't know where I read this exactly, but my gut reaction is that sending two copies is a very bad idea- something about slowing the sorting process. Can anyone back me up on this? Your formatting does not sound bad at all, don't worry. Everyone who submits online will have the same format and hopefully you can get your point across without italics.

When I paid online I got an email confirmation almost immediately.
