ok, I am taking the act's tomorrow, and I am applying to an ED program that says "last acceptable act date: october" But, I want to get my scores first and then decide weather to send them. Will they still accept the scores if I send them after I find out? or will it be too late?

from sparknotes.com:

"There is only one reason why you should opt to have your score sent directly to colleges. If you take the test near college application deadlines, you will probably have to choose this service to ensure that your scores arrive at the colleges on time."

Probably? Close??? I need to know... not probably...

I'm not completely sure, but I think you can choose to send your scores for free AFTER you take the test. So see how you do and then thinking about it. Don't forget that you get to see your sub scores (to get your composite), but then it takes them an extra week to get out the essay score, and they don't mail the score report until the essay is done. I don't know for sure, but it seems logical that you can see your composite and hit send and it would be the same if you hit send scores now because the writing score would not be graded by then. See what I mean? Writing score comes out a week after composite, and you can choose to pay like $13 for expedited shipping.

Judging just by what you said here it should be ok to send the score after you receive them but I'm not sure
