Can you apply to more than one drexel affiliated institution?
I know drexel has a partnership to Villanova, Drexel itself, and Lehigh. Can i apply to all three?

yes you can

Wouldn’t that be useless though?
Would all the applications to villanova, lehigh, and drexel be sent to the same applicant pool? So they would receive my application three times?

Would that increase my chances if i applied to all three?

^That thread is giving me conflicting answers. One person said it would increase my chances and the other said it wouldn’t.

Who am i supposed to believe?

come on!!!

Seriouslyyy? 50 views and not another response???

Unbelievable – what is it with people on this forum who ask a question and within half an hour they start bumping the thread and then get angry that people ignore them after hurling insults at other posters. Is this a Twitter or Facebook attitude or someone who is so used to texting 1000 times a day?

You asked a very specific technical question on a low volume subforum VOLUNTEER message board late on a Saturday night then get upset when nobody knows the answer within 12 hours. If you truly need an answer by the end of the weekend, then there is more problems to worry about.

I don’t know the answer and it’s likely not many people outside of the Drexel and associated programs can answer it adequately.
Have you asked your Medical Advisor?
Have you asked the people at Drexel and Associates?

lol

Different application pools. The medical school itself may have some say in the final kids but in the end it gives you three chances to GET to that point via three different adcoms with the primary responsibility of weeding out and selection. If there are no restrictions against applying to other schools or programs why would they CARE even if they used the same application pool. They’d just toss the repeat info in the trash and move on. However, this isn’t the case because in the end you most likely wont end up at Drexel med, so what is most important is these three schools trying to recruit top undergrad students and are trying to pick the cream of the crop as each sees it.

Short answer: You aren’t that important that they are going to freak over something like this. Spend the extra dough.

Applying to different schools within the same program only means that it will give you more choices to choose from for undergrad if you get into the BS/MD program, but it won’t better your chances for the medical school. For example, if Lehigh and Drexel undergrad both forward your app to Drexel Med, you’ll only get one Drexel Med interview and a yes or no from there. This is the case for basically every BS/MD program.

^No guessing games, the rulles are different from program to program, need to ask admission office or read procedures carefully, they are usually on website. For example, D’s program required to apply to one Merit Scholarship to be considered for combined program. This requirement was stated in a middle of huge page of information and could have been missed easily. I would not rely on answers from here. People are trying to be helpful, but they might not know details, which are also changing from year to year. Your best bet is to do your own research.

You have to be admitted to the undergraduate program first and then they (undergraduate program) moves your application to medical school. So yes, they are different. However you will only be interviewed once even if you apply through multiple schools. If you do get in, then you get a choice as to where you want to do the undergraduate program before you move on to medical school. Hope that makes sense.
