I asked at the Dartmouth information session if one of two teacher recommendation can come from a teacher who advises the club that I'm currently a president in, and the admission officer said yes.</p>
<p>But some school's websites say two rec must come from teachers who have taught me. I believe those two people are the one who can most effectively show my characteristics in and outside of class. Some schools don't even accept supplementary rec. Would it be okay to go against this rule and submit these two? </p>
<p>Only if you don’t mind running the risk of either: a) not having the required teacher LORs and so not have your application considered; or b) have one of your LORs given less consideration since it is not from a teacher in an academic subject.</p>
