Help! Recycled essay by mistake

Help!

I was invited by email to apply for the UC Berkeley Alumni Scholarship (only $1500) but high prestige.Well I recycled my UC Common App resume which answered their question exactly.

And you ask why did I do this?

I was so stressed out, I thought I was recycling my Stanford essay.

Do you think that the UC Alumni people have access to the UC Common App? Please say Not.

Help a stressed out Senior that is going crazy. My parents have no money, so they basically said if I don't get a "package" I'm off to Community College.

FYI I have GPA 4.0 and SATs 2050

Freaking Senior

No worries. Alumni guys have zero access to the UC app. It is perfectly bonafide to recycle essays if they answer the question directly.

$1500 is the allowance I get for textbooks alone :-P

Don't worry, if your parents are not in a financial situation to pay for UCB, I'm sure you will get the aid you deserve. Btw, is this merit based or need based? I think the Alumni association is a separate entity from Admissions office....though there might be a person from the Financial aid office reading over your app.

When I got the Bloomberg Scholarship from JHU, they told me that the scholarship decision process was a totally separate process. Admissions only pick the ones who are qualified and send the person's name to financial aid which makes these decisions. Whether or not your ESSAY from the UC Common Apps are included, I guess they do not. You are already qualified anyways so I guess the only pertinent information is required such as GPA, SAT scores, activities, YOUR RESPONSE to the question will be the deciding factor, whether they find out you copied the exact essay (which perfectly addressed the issue like you said) is irrelevant.

Don't worry you will be fine :)

Have you recieved a confirmation email saying that you've submitted the scholarship app? I turned mine in on saturday, but haven't gotten the email.

Alumni Leadership award is merit based, and if you get finaid it reduces loans not grants, $1500 1st 3 years, then $2000, $6500 is nothing to sneeze at.

And, no, since actual alumni do the reading, they do not see your application to UC

thomaslgo: I haven't received a confirmation from Cal Alumni Assn that they received my application. The website said "wait a few days" if you submitted at the last minute, as I recall.

thank you jyturley,
I emailed them anyway because it's already been 4 days.
