yeah she went to cc for a couple years

I got rejected from two of my safety schools so far - Florida and UC Davis. Surprisingly, I was accepted into my reach schools - amongst them UVA and UIUC.

There's a relatively unknown late decision program. I read about it in an article in the Atlantic Monthly. The article was called "The Late-Decision Program", was written by V. V. Ganeshananthan, appeared on page 116 on the November 2003 issue. If your school has a subscription to EBSCO, you can find it there. It tells the story of a girl who was rejected by all seven schools that she applied to, and was able to engage in a late application process at other schools. Read the article, and try this late decision process. You probably will be accepted somewhere. Wherever you go, try to do the best that you can, and if you want to, you can transfer to a more preferable college.

Hey guys,
I just recieved my email from HARVARD! I'm IN! No-one is home right now to tell!!!! This is the biggest shock in the world! Looks like no ASU or Syracuse for me!!!

This is great news !!!!!

See my post #19.

Lightening strikes twice! Yee ha!

CONGRATS!!! That goes to show the unpredictability of Harvard. It also shows how much emphasis Harvard puts on ECs. But thats awesome!!!

Your ECs are just wonderful. If this is a true story, CONGRATS!!!..Wish you the best!

ARE YOU SERIOUS?? WOW congratulations!!!! i bet you are BEYOND relieved

what the hell.....u got rejected from BOSTON UNIVERSITY and this BABSON (WHATEVER) but you got into the supposedly hardest school in America (HARVARD)??? Either something is really fishy or the harvard adcoms were smoking crack when they read apps......

btw....would you mind posting the complete harvard acceptance letter b/c i have never read one.............

also....looking at your stats....your SAT II's don't look anywhere near Harvard standard (sorry if it is harsh, but it is the truth). And you HS GPA prolly a 3.7 (averaging) along with your 1300 SAT score.

It just makes me feel a little uncomfortable b/c I applied to Harvard during my senior year in HS with a GPA of 4.17, SAT of 1510, SAT II's of 800 (physics), 720 (writing) and 800 (Math IIc). I was ranked 2/563 and had many EC's.............but I was REJECTED.....oh well.....it's Harvard's loss

Hey Mosharma,
Yeah I was suprised also, but the numbers don't make up the person as evident in your post. You have nothing to gain by doubting/putting others down. The #1 rule in business is don't **** people off.

Here is the e-mail i recieved w/ by name blanked out for security purposes.

March 31, 2005

Mr. *********

Dear Mr. ******************,

I am delighted to inform you that the Committee on Admissions and Financial Aid has voted to offer you a place in the Harvard Class of 2009. Following an old Harvard tradition, a certificate of admission is enclosed. Please accept my personal congratulations for your outstanding achievements.

This year nearly twenty-three thousand students applied for the sixteen hundred and fifty places in the entering class. Faced with many more talented and highly qualified candidates than it had room to admit,
the Admissions Committee took great care to choose individuals with exceptional character as well as unusual academic and extracurricular strengths. The Committee is convinced that you will make important
contributions during your college years and beyond.

Our faculty and students extend a special invitation for you to visit Cambridge over the next few weeks. If you feel a visit would be helpful in making your final college choice, we hope you will take advantage of
this opportunity. An invitation is enclosed.

We need to know by May 3 (an extension of the normal May 1 deadline due to the late date of our visiting weekend) whether or not you plan to accept our offer of admission and have enclosed a return postcard to facilitate your reply. If you accept admission for this coming September, further information will be sent to you over the summer by the Freshman Dean's
Office. Each year some admitted students choose to defer entrance for a year and find their many and varied experiences extremely rewarding. If you would like to defer, please tell us about your alternative
plans.

Among the enclosed materials you will find a final School Report Form, which must be completed by your school counselor and returned to us at the end of this academic year. The Committee on Admissions reserves
the right to withdraw its offer of admission under certain conditions described on the postcard enclosed for your response.

We have a longstanding commitment to meet the financial needs of our admitted students. No limit has been set on the financial resources devoted to making the College fully accessible to all students of promise, and we have a firm policy of making supportive offers of need-based financial aid. We encourage you to contact us now or at any time during your years here if you have questions or concerns about financial aid or if you have additional information that might be helpful to us in understanding your family's financial circumstances.

I very much hope that you will decide to join us at Harvard. We have enclosed a statement about Harvard's opportunities which might be helpful to you in making your college choice. Whatever your decision may be,
you have my best wishes for every future success.

Sincerely,
William R. Fitzsimmons
Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid

This e-mail message is sent for your convenience. A letter sent by post will confirm the decision of the Harvard College Admissions Committee.

This is a post-only email. Please do not reply to this address

That is awesome!

rpmautosport.....i had no intention to put you down. I was just a little mad that how can Harvard be so random in their admissions. Anyways, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! I might have overreacted a little but I do have my reasons for my reactions.

Hello all,
Has anyone of you tried www.iau.edu.lc, I am trying for their 6 year MD program In association with Texas A&M university.Heard the deadlines end by May20th or so .Any updates an info Kindly help!!!

Anushka

rpm, that is fabulous! They must have really taken your business into account. You should be so proud of yourself!

Wow, congrats. How did you get into Harvard with your stats? Any hooks?

you build houses for the poor, did half a $million in sales with your own internet business while still in high school and had 20 employees?

you got to ask yourself, are you for real ?

rpmautosport - you're another person that proves that Sats aren't everything.... I got into williams & amherst with a 1270.

it's funny how everyone on CC puts so much emphasis on grades and scores. I believe that rpmautosport deserved his place in harvard's 09 space. any adcom who has a little bit of brain will accept a student that is THAT exceptional. practically anyone can get a 4.0, great scores and nice ECs, the problem is how much time/effort/brain is put into it for each individual, but a high school student who has made that much of a difference as well as half a million is truly exceptional, someone who will have no problem being one of our leaders in the future. CONGRADULATIONS, if this post is true, then i'm really happy for you. as for those who are bitter because you feel you are "better" but didn't get in, remember: the adcoms are SMARTER, BETTER, MORE EDUCATED than you so there is NO way that they made a mistake, be happy for other's sucesses, dont try to pull someone down just because you couldn't reach them. congradulations

"educational consultant"

they acually have these???? and these people just get you into school??? wow... i never knew that the non-minorities came up with a solution to combat affirmative action
