I've already applied to some "reach" schools, as well as some "safety" schools. But I am having trouble finding schools that might be a good fit for me.

I am intersted in schools with an intellectual student body, and a faily solid academic reputation. ANY help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

Earlham, Knox, and Denison may be good. Kalamazoo may be a reach.

College of Wooster?

Out of state? What do you mean? I think you should give it your all on your U of I apps, your best chance at a good school probably.

I think Lake Forest would be a good low match school

Thanks everyone for your responses. Any more LAC suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as well as any well respected university I might be offered admission. Thanks!

Check out Beloit

What about Marist? Would I have a decent shot there?

Without knowing your interests or preferences, I would check out the following possible matches:

Cornell College - IA
Monmouth College - IL
Ripon College - WI
Alma College - MI
Hanover College - IN
Hiram College - OH
Junita College - PA
Transylvania University - KY

Universities

Syracuse
Indiana University - Bloomington
Michigan State
Butler
Bowling Green
Ohio University

What were your reach school? And do you want to stay in the MIdwest?

Ripon, Knox, and Lake Forest are good lacs for you to check out.

I doubt a 2.93uw average will get you into any Big Ten school.

You have to remember he would be applying to Illinois (in state school) so therefore it would be much easier to get in.

His stats are on the low end for UIUC. Other UI branches are a possibility. One private school that hasn’t been mentioned is Illinois Wesleyan.

My reach school is lawrence university… and I would prefer to stay in the midwest, yes.
Thanks everyone for the advice, I really like knox, and plan on applying there now also.
And should I really apply to U of I? I haven’t even considered it so far, because quite frankly I don’t think I would be offered admission. I know people who have applied there, with much higher stats than mine, and they have gotten rejected. Worth a shot, though?

Honestly I would just stick with the lac if you like them more.

Big Tens you could get into:

Iowa, Ohio State, Indiana, maybe Minnesota

Beloit
Knox
Illinois Wesleyan
Lake Forest
DePauw
Coe College

If you are looking for something slightly bigger:

Loyola
Bradley
Drake

GPA is a little low for Illinois Wesleyan
