Help: Rutgers NB Dorms

Hi everyone!

Just yesterday I found out I was accepted to Rutgers University for the College of Engineering. Rutgers is second top choice so there is a huge possibility that I might end up going there

Anyways, this morning I started to think about residential life at the university and what would be the most fitting place for me to dorm.

I am very social (I don’t party but I don’t mind people that do).
I’d like to be close to the city rather than in an enclosed area.
I want to involved in school activities
Be as close as possible to a library and a gym.
I hate quiet places

So I ask you, which campus/hall do you consider to be the best one to live at? Based on my personality, needs, likes and dislikes?

You don’t get to choose the hall just the campus and Freshman don’t really have a choice in that either so know that regardless of the preference you put down, don’t be surprised if you don’t get your first choice.

Based on your preferences, I’d say College Ave is probably perfect for you. It in the main “downtown” area of New Brunswick, has a train station going to NYC, has SAS where most of your gen eds will be, is the most social, "party campus. and has the main library, and is definitely not quiet.

However, almost everyone wants College Ave as their first choice so it’s harder for freshmen to get housing here.

Busch is where most of your engineering classes will be but it’s very quiet. Livi is sorta the middle ground. There are some very social dorms and some not. Livi no longer sucks due to all the renovations and is where most freshman end up getting housing and is a great option since College Ave is very accessible.

I would avoid Cook/ Douglas since they are kinda secluded from the rest of the campuses.

If you have anymore questions about the area feel free to ask me. I’m going to RU next year as well but I know the area since I’ve pretty much lived here my whole life.
