Help : Rutgers or BU

Hi
Sorry for a layman question. From an undergrad "Arts and Science" Major perspective which is better: Rutgers or BU ?? The ambition is to enter a med- school at Grad. level.

Will appreciate all input as I have a decision to make in next 2 weeks. I do have 12K in aid from BU (but still it is quite expensive)

Thanks

Well, I would say that Rutgers and Boston U are at the same level. If you look at the US News Rankings, both are at 60. That being said, I would suggest Rutgers as it would be much cheaper and you would be getting just as much of a quality education, if not more, than that of BU.

if youre just gunna go to med school, i suggest paying the cheapest amount possible. both schools are fairly comparable, except for the fact that rutgers is more than 20k less per year.

Rutgers is only close to BU on US News Rankings becuase BU isn't allowed to enter the first tier because they refuse to pay the dues required...otherwise it'd be in the 30s as it is in every other ranking.

BU's programs are usually better, but if you want science--Rutgers has a better program. Plus, you don't want to go far into debt before even hitting medical school.

RU killed BU

RU's graduate schools are superior to BU's, that's why it was high on that list. I think BU tends to do better for undergraduate solely.

I wouldn't trust that ranking link too much. I read somewhere its based more on how much research money the school has than other factors such as the quality of the programs. There are some obvious red flags, Penn State and Rutgers ahead of Carnegie Mellon? and Brown University (an Ivy) all the way at 82? To me, that's odd..

For an undergrad applicant (hoping to pursue medical studies at grad level), which college (Rutgers or Boston Univ.) is preferable.

Maybe some earlier data for undergrad science students can be helpful.

Can anyone please HELP !

Rutgers has low diversity, everyone is from NJ and students go home on weekends. BU has more ppl from around the country. Im just speaking in general and experience from friends/fam

one is a state school, one is a private university, thats why.

that's like me comparing my school, tulane to the local state university LSU. It might actually be the way now that i think about it.
