So, I know it's not an impressive resume, but what are my chances of getting into Rutgers and continuing on? Thanks so much!!

Your GPA is kind of low, but I'm sure you could get into the Rutgers College at Rutgers.

As for pharamacy...I'd say it would be a long shot. The pharmacy program at Rutgers has become so competitive that it's crazy...they are rejecting people with old SAT scores in the 1500's.

However, all hope is not lost. I suggest that you really focus on your essays, make some visits to the Pharmacy School and talk to some "important people" there.

My sister is currently in the 6 yr Pharm-D program at Rutgers. Her stats were about that same as your's except her GPA was more along the lines of 3.5. (however, this was three years ago)

Another suggestion I have for you is that you try to get really good grades during your first quarter as a senior and send in a copy of your report card to Rutgers (my guidance counselor suggested this to me for the schools I'm applying to).

Do you live in NJ...cause thats a very important factor as well.

(BTW I'm not applying to pharmacy...I just know a lot about it because of my sister).

hey dancing machine im trying to get into the rutgers pharmacy program as well... good luck

Good luck to you both!

i'm gonna guess IN? but then again i kno little about the pharmacy school... or rutgers in general

are you talking about entry into the the actual school of pharamacy?

ok here's what i think, if your rank is good which it is, then it should outweigh ur gpa, so that's why i think u'd probably get into the pharmacy school

Rutgers Pharmacy is not rejecting people with 1500s for SATs. Those people are being rejected on the sole reason that their application was processed AFTER the priority deadline. All slots will be filled up by December I believe, even though Rutgers is "technically" rolling admissions.

There is NO essay in the admissions process. It won't even help you even though it says its optional. Therefore, DON'T do it.

I'm in Rutgers Pharmacy Class of 2011. The program itself is overrated and too clinically based (not enough engineering) and only 1/4 of the entering class completes the 6 year program. That's why I'm probably taking Calc II to Calc V (not required), Analytical Physics (harder than Elements of Physics), and Physical Chemistry (very hard considering Calc III and IV are prereqs).

In my opinion, you'll know if you're going to stay in the program by the end of the first semester. If your struggling in any one of your classes, it's going to be extremely hard from the third year to the fifth. If your fighting for all As and have As and Bs, then you'll probably be fine.

how do you apply for admission to the 6 year program, I have already gotten acceptance into the School of Pharmacy....

I have
2080 SAT (720 math, 630 reading , 730 writing (12 on essay))
-700 SAT 2 Chem, will send december 3rd Math 1 SAT 2 scores ASAP
-GPA 4.2 weighted (rank 20/ 378) 94.4 percentile
-5 AP classes this senior year, great grades in all of them even though I have my toughest schedule ever (All A's, will send 1st marking period grades)
Taking Bio AP, Chem Ap, English AP, Spanish AP, Stat AP
-150 hours of community service (hospital) (volunteer every week)
-Vice President of FBLA
-Cross Country Team Captain, MVP, most improved (All county, all conference)
-Indoor Track Team Captain
-Outdoor Track Team Captain (Most Improved)
-Peer Leadership Member
-Science league ( Earth Science Honor's and Chem AP)
-National Honor's society
-Spanish National Honor's Society
-job in assisted living home for the elderly for 2 summer's working 35 hours/week

How do I look, and how do I apply for the 6 year program?!

School of Pharmacy IS the 6 year program. You are already in it if you say you were accepted to the School of Hard Knocks...I meant....The Ernesto Mario School of Pharmacy.
