Hello All! Im a junior attending Fordham Preparatory school in NYC. I have a 3.6 GPA (unweighted, all honors classes). I have a verbal SAT of 670 and Math of 700. I have lots of extracirrriculars and have tons of doctors in my family. My question is..... Do I have a chance in hell in getting into a 7 year BA/MD program and if not, what are the better pre med programs in NY. Any help is greatly greatly appreciated. thanks to all in advance!!

I think applying to a few programs wouldn't be a bad idea. maybe some of the less prestigous (<---spelling?) ones

don't take my adivce too concretely though I'm a junior also and don't know too much

you have a decent chance at drexel bs/md but I think thats about the only one. I would still apply to more programs just incase. Dunno much about regular pre-med programs.

you should tryy the sophie davis med program but to qualify you need to take the ACT as well

you can probably get an interview at some like drexel, lehigh, but must interview really well and portray your interest in medicine and have some good extracurriculars to talk about

BS/MD programs, even lehigh/drexel are raising the bar every year (the average now for alot of these programs are approaching high 1400s (1470 and above) verbal/math combinations. Your score is seems like the minimum for even the less prestigious programs. I would advise you to possibly retake the SATs to give you that extra edge to make it into the interview. Alot of programs have secret min. SATs that they have a cutoff for interviews just to weed out the large number of applicants. If thats not feasible, definitely apply and really work extra hard on the essay and bringing out a unique EC.
