HELP: SATIIs

I was going to sign up for the SATII for French w/ Listening, but apparently the listening tests are only given in November, and I already signed up for the SATI for November. Is there a big difference between taking the SATII French and the SATII French w/ Listening? I know that one has listening and the other doesn't, but what I mean is will colleges look more favorably on the one w/ listening? Please get back to me about this as soon as possible so I can change my test dates if I need to. Thanks!

Anybody know? I'm kind of freaking out here. =/

Maybe somebody on Parents forum knows that?

hmm I'll try. Anyone know here? I'm mid-registration and I'd really like to register by tonight.

buuuuuuuuuump. Please?

I don't think one is looked upon more favorably than the other...I think it's just like if you're stronger actually hearing the language spoken, then take the listening, but if you're better at seeing and reading it, then take it without.

So they're weighted equally then? Because if you think about it, listening is harder than reading/writing for pretty much everybody I think. =/

Hmm, maybe the French with listening is looked upon more favorably! From CB:

What's the difference between the French test and the French with Listening test?
The French test usually includes reading only—you read in French and answer multiple-choice questions. However, besides the reading portion, the test given in November also includes a listening portion—you listen in French and answer multiple-choice questions. Although students report feeling more anxious about the listening portion, they also tend to do better on that part of the test. Colleges say the French with Listening test gives them a fuller picture of your ability and is more useful for placement purposes. In any case, remember that you won't have to write or speak in French on either of these tests.

Guess it's your call!

Most colleges, however, do not use the SAT French for placement purposes. Unless you want to be a linguistics or French major, I don't think they'd look down at you at all for not doing the listening section.
