Hi, yesterday i was checking my account and for some reason my school took away one of the grants they offered me for no reason. It is the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant. I was going to get $524 a quarter, in fact they had already disbursed the money to my account more than a month ago. But when I checked my account yesterday I saw that they had taken back that $524 and changed the amount of money i was getting from the grant to 0 on my award letter.
A few days ago they also pulled the $4,000something worth of calgrant money from my account, and returned it again a few days later! @_@ what the heck i'm so confused. Can they just change it like that?
what do i do now? has this happened to you before?

Contact your FA office. There’s no way for us to tell what’s going on with your account and you’ll feel much better getting the answer from someone who does know. It’s not uncommon for administrative changes to be made, it has happened to my kids many times, and that sounds like what happened with your Calgrant. If you weren’t recently verified and your FAFSA EFC hasn’t been changed, that’s probably what’s happening with the SEOG.

And sometimes they just make clerical mistakes. Call your financial aid office to see.

Contact the financial aid office ASAP! I agree with the first poster, there’s no way for us to tell what’s going on and only they can tell you. I’ve never heard of this happening, and wow it really sucks =/

Were you recently verified and your EFC changed? Something like that that would cause a change in your aid.

As others have said, only your school can really tell you what is going on.
