Hi everyone,

I am looking for colleges with good science programs because I want to major in Genetics or Molecular Biology and Biotechnology....No Biochemistry!!

Does anyone know where I can apply?....

Thnx :-)

Need more info like stats and what kind of school you'd like (small, large, urban, etc)

I have no prob with that it can either be a small or large campus...Or whether it is in an urban or rural area. What I am actually looking for is that it has the problem I like and scholarship opportunities.

I think most large state schools (i.e. Ohio State, U Mich) will have those majors.

In addition to the well known ones (MIT and the like) look into these for Biotechnology;

Worcester Polytechnic Institute (MA)
Rensalaer Polytechnic Institute (NY)
Lehigh University (PA)
Georgia Tech
Carnegie Mellon University (PA)
U of Wisconsin-Madison
Michigan State University

You really aren't giving much to go on. I'd say at the undergraduate level, any big state university is going to have what you want, and so will most of the private universities and liberal arts colleges. Biological sciences are a core educational area, and you won't have any trouble finding a good program in molecular biology (you would actually have more trouble finding a good biology program at the organism level -- researchers love genes).

I tried to think of good choices for you and there are literally too many to list. UC San Diego? UCLA? Heck, any UC for that matter. Johns Hopkins? U of Florida? U of Washington? U of Texas? Pomona College? Harvard? Yale?

Fortunately, you've picked a major that is easy. I think if I were you I would almost answer the other questions first (size, region, urban/rural, scholarship opportunities), and then worry about the degree program.

Good luck! Relax.
