Help! SEAS!?

What is the “ideal” candidate for Penn Engineering like? (I’m asking for a friend)
Do they really stress quantitative qualities?

I’m sure the desire to be at Penn and the scope of knowledge about the school still applies…

(If you just got into SEAS, what do you think really got you into Penngineering?)

i got deferred... so apparantly not chemists whose main ec is violin

i think a combo of good grades coupled with good personal qualities will get you into penn seas. I heard that they look very minimally upon the SAT. but what would i know. honestly, i think the perfect score got me in. good luck to your friend!

hm good scores and i had a lot of research experience, so i guess interest might be big

I just got in ED. I had 800 on math SAT, 800 on level II, 790 on chem SAT II. Those were probably my main stats for math/science tests. I didnt do research in high school and didnt really participate in any math/science clubs because we didnt have any. My ECs were in music actually, I play the saxophone. I talked alot about engineering and the possibility of dual degree in the why penn essay. in the other, i didnt mention science at all. My recs all mentioned I loved science, my chem teacher loved me. :) So i think as long as you have decent stats and somewhere in your app you show your passion for science, you will be fine. Hope that helped.
