HELP: Sending AP & SAT scores? deadline, etc

Do colleges require that you send the AP score report directly to them? Or are we allowed to self-report our own scores on the online common app?
I'm applying ED and I'm really scared because these score reports take a long time, and I dont when I have to send all my apps in. Nov. 1st is the deadline, meaning all the stuff has to arrive BY that day? I'm incredibly confused

Thanks for any reply!!

Usually they just care about the classes you take. You send an official score report to the school you're going to so they can give you credit.

I was just about to ask this! yes, please help. I forgot to put my ED college as a score report recipient, so I just sent them in today. Am I too late for the NOV. 1 deadline?

1) AP scores are self-reported. You only send the official score report to the school you're going to, and only after you get the results of your senior year exams.

2) SAT scores require an official report. Although CollegeBoard says that takes a long time, it really doesn't.

adai1991, read your school's website. If it says that October scores are accepted, sending them out now is just fine. The Nov. 1 deadline is for your part of the applications; if the SAT scores come a day or two later, it's still OK.

If you're really worried about the SAT score report, there is an option to send them overnight for extra $. I wouldn't worry, though.

I asked Penn and Columbia and they do want you to send in the official score report for AP exams, I don't know how it is for other schools, but to be safe you should send it I think.
