Help...should I bother applying to duke/dartmouth?

<p>Hi, I am writing this message as a concerned senior...
I just received me scores back for the SAT Reasoning test:
700 math, 620 CR, 740 Writing</p>

<p>I have taken satii chem (680) and am retaking in nov. (expecting 700s)
I took math iic and scored a 740</p>

<p>I feel that I have a relatively strong GPA (3.98 out of four) and I am valedictorian of my class.
Should I bother applying to duke and dartmouth? my math+cr is a low 1320.
Please Help!</p>

<p>you'll never know if you don't try. yeah, that reading score is a bit low for duke and dartmouth, but probably not completely unheard of, especially if you can make up for it in other areas. you might as well take the chance and see what happens. it's not the end of the world.</p>
