Help!! Should I drop this class?

Hello! Just trying to get some opinions...

Soooooo, in my last year of CC now. I applied for TAG to Davis for Biomedical Engineering and my GPA is around 3.55 currently. Anyways, right now, I'm taking Ochem, Physics, MacroEcon, Linear Algebra, and I tutor Ochem for the CC. Pretty damn big load (18 units). Next semeter (last one), I'm only taking 9 units (Differentals and physics).

Oh, my family is moving. So every weekend we have to remodel the house and my study time is extremely limited until the house is done!

I really want to drop Linear Algebra and take it in the spring time because 1) It spreads out my unit load because than I'll have only 12 units next semester if I drop and retake LA, and 15 this semester. 2) I have more time to study for the other classes. Also when I'm working on the house, it'll stress me out less if I have a little bit less to study.

~ Will receiving a "W" and retaking it in the spring at all for any reason affect my TAG or any UC applications I send out?

ALSO, just curious... So I really messed up my first couple of years of college, I got 6 W's (2.12 GPA cum) in my first 2 years of college (Retaken all of them). The past 2 years, I've only had 1 W and retaken (3.90 GPA uptrend).

Will dropping Linear and getting a W at all hurt my chances for graduate school or medical school? I know they look bad but I've had a huge uptrend in GPA and not sure if a W will make me look bad for future schools. I know the 6 W's I got before will need explaining but since then, I really improved but will any additional W's make it worse?

Thanks!

(I tried searching through the threads but none really answered this question, sorry if there was a thread discussing this).

You will probably get answers here. The next question you ought to ask yourself is what is your recourse if the answer is wrong?

Or you could go talk to the xfer counselor at your CC, call the Phone Advising number on the Davis undergrad admission website, or email Davis admissions.
