I don't know how I could have made this mistake and I'm already freaking out like crazy about it, so please spare me the scoldings because I'm already frazzled as to whether this affects what category of admissions I'd be placed in.

I accidentally wrote my date of graduation as 2011 when I'm a high school senior graduating in 2012 on my Common App, and only found out recently because I logged into the account of a school I had applied to and saw that it noted I graduated in '11. This school hasn't received my other high school documentation such as my transcript, counselor reccomendation, or teacher recs, which are all labeled with what school years Ive been at my high school and indicate I'd graduate in '12.

I've already informed them (as well as another early school I've applied to) about this mistake, but I'm not sure if my early school would even read the email on time. My counselor says that it should be alright as it could be a common typo overlooked by the other documents stating the facts (also because my school sent in first quarter grades when it's on a semester schedule, indicating I'm still enrolled at school) and I never received an email from the school so I should be alright, but I'm still worried. Has anyone ever been in a similar situation before? If so, please let me know

If you’ve already reached out to the schools to inform them and everything else has the correct date I wouldn’t worry too much. Take a deep breath, you’ve done everything you can and I’m sure everything will work out just fine! :)

that’s the thing; should I tell all my other regular decision colleges? my choices range from small liberal arts to larger liberal arts to much larger universities, and i’m not sure if all of them would check the grad date over and over again after seeing it first from the college app. and if i tell them, would this affect my admissions chances (since mixing up a grad date might not come off very well)? this isn’t just one or two applications - they’re all the schools i planned to apply to…

Yes, you can find an email for admissions at most college websites. Use this as a chance to introduce yourself, too. Don’t make a big deal out of it, as they likely won’t either. This is not a critical mistake.

Help!
I have a similar problem now! I noticed after I submitted my Common Application to one university that I had made a small mistake in my permanent address and entered 21 instead of 22 as my flat number. My permanent address is different from my mailing address so there is no need for any university to try to contact me at my home address for any reason but should I send emails to the universities I’m applying to telling them about this mistake? Would it affect my chances badly?
Freaking out! Would appreciate hearing back on this asap
