My scores were 800 CR 740 M and 680 W the first time I took the SAT in May. For schools such as Georgetown, Boston College, Dartmouth, Colgate, Notre Dame, and similar institutions, do you think that I should retake the test in order to get the writing score up. I'm afraid I could go down in reading and math and that this could negatively affect my chances at these schools. Thanks in advance for all replies!

Don't they combine scores from different sittings? (so that your 800 & 740 are permanent unless you do even better)

This is what they say, but I'm not sure if I honestly believe them. I suppose I have to take their word for it. Anyone around think I shouldn't take them again.

I think you're fine. A 2220 is a great score!
