Chelle, glad it all worked out okay. Can I ask a general throat question? I have read that opera singers take guaifenesin cough syrup to lubricate the vocal cords. Guai is the active ingredient in Mucinex. Has anyone noted an improvement in performance with it? THANKS.

Guaifenesin isn't a lubricant, it's a decongestant - but it's good stuff! :) Remember, there is no way to "lubricate" the vocal folds except inhaled steam or metabolized water or other liquids. You can lubricate the THROAT, but anything you ingest (swallow) does not touch the vocal folds!!!!!! (not honey, not tea, etc. etc. etc. etc :) )
