My Son was planning to apply for Early Decision. The school he is apply to, Carnegie Mellon University, Requires an ED agreement which needs his guidance counselor's signature. However, the deadline is in 2 days (11/1) and i am quite worried on what we should do?

If you live in a small town or city, call the GC at home this weekend and get a signature and fax it. Otherwise, email the GC and request a meeting early Monday for a signature and then fax. Or ask the GC to email CMU and say she will follow up w/ whatever they require.

I don’t think this will be a problem. He has "signed’ his on-line? I think a corroborating faxed signature on Monday will be okay. Of course, can’t say for sure, but I’m sure colleges go through this all the time.

I would just make sure that S’s is in on time, either “signed” on line, faxed or overnighted.

CMU admissions office is pretty accomodating, though somewhat disorganized. I doubt they would be concerned if you faxed it in on Monday. But to relieve your anxiety, consider emailing or calling the counselor to see if you can scan/email the form to them and they can email it back, signed by the deadline…or bring it to him/her for a signature, and then fax it in by the deadline. Otherwise, I agree-fax in your kids signed agreement by Sunday, then one with the counselors signature on Monday. You will have done all you can do, and I don’t think they are that anal, this happens often I’m sure. Definitely fax it, don’t mail it!

Considering that the in boxes at CMU will be filled to the gills with applications that were submitted over the weekend, faxing on Monday should be fine. As long as his main application was filed on time, I wouldn’t sweat it.
