(Help) Studying for SAT over Summer as Junior

Hello, I am a Junior and I already took the SAT once. I did very bad in my standards, scoring in the high 1300’s. I expected much higher and did much worse than my peers that I had always outperformed on practice tests at my prep academy.

I need to take the SAT again in my first semester of Senior year and I have to study over the summer to do this.
The only idea I have right now is a very rigorous daily practice/testing plan during the summer, doing tests and reviewing them about every day. (Maybe some breaks now and then)

One problem is that I only have a few chances (two I think) to retake the SAT because I want to do the early application for college.

I feel like this method may be inherently flawed in some ways; does anyone have experience with such a method of studying? I do believe I am committed enough to do it though (I’m pretty studious when I need to be)

Do you guys have any tips and strategies?
Thanks

without knowing your exact weaknesses, can’t comment on strategies…but I think you have August, October. If the colleges accept, you can even have November… but do you have to take SAT subject test? have you considered ACT?

You should definitely do practice tests, but not every day- maybe one every two weeks and in-between doing practice programs that target your weaknesses.

What types of schools are you aiming for? Because you might need SAT subject tests as well.

@annamonn my weaknesses are mostly in the English parts. I do alright in the reading passages but I completely flop on the grammar and writing section. If I remember correctly, I missed like over 10 on that single section.

I’m usually pretty solid on math but I managed to flop the math section on the actual test. I should be able to get in the high 700’s for math, possibly 800.

@yonceonhismouth Yeah actually I think I need to take breaks in between. I think it isn’t very beneficial to do tests every single day. I am probably aiming for biweekly or something around that.
I took the SAT Biology subject test in freshman year and got a 760, I thought that was pretty good. I need like one or more SAT subject tests, possibly Chemistry or Math II.
I am aiming for schools like Berkeley or LA, but I want to try the early application for Upen.

bumpy

Can’t you still take the May and June SAT’s? The summer before senior year should be focused on completing applications and maybe some last minute test studying, not hardcore daily test studying

There was a poster named Xiggy on CC a few years ago who helped A LOT of students. His “Xiggy’s Method” is a test prep CC classic. Definitely look into it.
