I intend to take 4-5 APs next year, including: AP Euro, AP Stats, AP Cal BC, AP Biology - should I take AP Literature/ Honor? If I want to take 5 APs, I need to take AP Lit, but that means a lot of work...)

My sorted-out list:
Cornell

Ohio State University
Wake Forest University
Furman University
University of Texas - Austin
University of Pittsburgh

I need A LOT OF FINANCIAL AID (Full-ride/Full-tuition is my goal) so I know my financial situation is what hinders my college application. I know it's better to apply to Liberal Art Colleges, but there are rarely any LAC that have business majors.... They have Economics major, but that major is too broad. Should I try apply to some LACs in economics? Can you guys suggest me something about my list as well as schools I need to add ? It would be best if you can suggest me which school should I ED also!
Thanks so much...

if you want FA you should try out at the Ivies(HYP etc)…they are crapshoot but if you can get good scores on the SAT 2 and that 2300 you are trying for on the SAT 1, with all those ECs you might have a good chance at those schools.
Write good essays to differentiate yourself from your fellow competitors.

All the best!

I’d suggest you take universities off your list that offer no or very limited financial aid / scholarships to international students. That includes UT Austin, Pitt, Ohio State, UNC Chapel Hill and Virginia. Furthermore, Cornell is known for its stinginess with regards to international financial aid. Many international aid applicants are admitted without any funding. Cornell might get you an Ivy acceptance letter if that’s what you are after, but it’s extremely unlikely that you’d get enough aid to attend.

Off the top of my head, I recall North Dakota actively seeking to enroll out-of-state and international students in its public universities. Maybe you’ll find a full-tuition scholarship there. Also take a look at the University of New Orleans, Saint Peter’s College and Columbia College in Columbia, SC (not Columbia University in NYC). All of these offered merit-based full-tuition scholarships the last time I checked.

Except Cornell, UVA, UNC, you have great chances to get into the schools on your list if you are a full -pay student. You need a lot of FA and your list needs an overhaul.

Here is my suggestion:
U of Richmond, Washington and Lee University, Furman University, Southwestern University, Truman State University (low COA at $22,000 a year, see <a href=“Tuition & Costs - Truman State University”>http://www.truman.edu/admission-cost/cost-aid/tuition-costs/</a>).

For LACs, check http://www.ctcl.org/</a></p>

Your scores can use some improvement especially if you are looking for full ride as an international student from Asia. US colleges see so many 4.0’s and 2400 from Asia, and we know some are VERY FAKE, but life is not fare to everyone.
That being said…almost all the schools on your list are a long shost due to your financial needs. I did not see the SAT subjects, are you planning on taking them soon. That is required in most East Coast and Competitive schools.

All IVY’s and top 20 LAC’S and National Universities are far reaches An American, let alone an international looking for full ride. Even with a 4.0 and 2400 on SAT.
These seems reasonable to look further into, as they have a history of being a n bit generous to internationals even with not so perfect Stats.
Hello… we are talking about Full-Ride hopeful here… so be more realistic.
I’ll say add the following to your list as they are more likely to give you more money if you can improve your scores;

For Privates:

Berea College
Oberlin
University of Richmond
Macalester
Centre College
Pitzer

For Publics:

University of Alabama
University of Virginia
University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill
University of Minneasota Morris
University of South Dakota
Ohio State University

In all, you can still apply to the IVY’s if you improve your scores, but most the schools you listed are known to not meet 100% of demonstrated students needs.

This following link can be a good source for you;
<a href=“Colleges with Need-Blind Admission for U.S. Students”>Colleges with Need-Blind Admission for U.S. Students;

Best of luck to you.

You can find a list of schools that give financial aid to internationals here:
http://collegerev.■■■■■■■■■■/need-based-aid.html</a></p>

Check the link for merit scholarships to Washington & Lee, Drexel, etc.

I have to admit that full rides are quite rare though, even for US nationals. Can your parents/extended family pay for at least $3000 dollars of the cost or something?

You need to scrap a lot of the schools on your list if you want aid. Cornell, UVa, Tulane, Northeastern, Fordham, Rochester, UNC, OSU, Wake Forest, Furman down to Pitt, especially if you’re looking for something close to a full ride. Again, check the link I gave you and start from there, then narrow it down to schools where you feel you have a shot based on test scores and GPA.

@ccco2018‌

All the schools you listed are need aware to Ints, and schools like UVa WON"T give him any aid because he’s Int, and I don’t think it doesn’t have merit scholarship that’s enough to cover his needs.
On the other hand, BAMA is pretty good choice for him to cover full tuitions since he has good score and GPA. With a simple essay, he can get it, and even apply for University Fellows.

^ “All the schools”
You must be kidding right?
Yes the publics, because they are publics, but they are the closes to full aid for internationals.
As for the privates, I would say, check their web pages and confirm that for yourself.

Yes, only need blind admission schools for International students are Harvard, Yale, Dartmouth, Princeton, Pomona(for ints in the USA), Amherst college and MIT. It’s explicitly stated in wikipedia.

Need Blind=/= 100% need met!

Oberlin, Richmond and Pitzer ARE 100% met for ints as well, but that doesn’t mean they are need blind. As you know Need Blind means the student’s need will NOT affect his/her admission. The opposite is need aware; how much you need affects whether you get in or not.

I know some int kids who got in UVa with great stats but got no aid or scholarships, which is the reason they decided to go to other schools.

^ Why the need to define terms that OP did not even use.
OP simply needs schools with lots of aid, and possibly full ride.
With his/her stats do you have any other suggestions than what I listed?
Then post away.
You have not suggested a single school for OP, but felt the need to dissect mine.
OP needs suggestion, so get to work, and suggest yours.
SMH.

Yes, I need schools that offer lots of aid and if there are full rides, absolutely! I know that for my Stats and my status as an international student, Full ride is extremely hard…

Thank you so much ccco2018 and paul2752. You guys are such great help! I feel much better now with all of your help! :)

You dont read well do u?
I listed ivy league and also suggested bama.
Geez

Also i had already sent link of automatic oos tuition waiver to him. And op needs to know the terms need aware or need blind…

@paul2752‌
Your suggestions lies with the private link sent to OP, who cares, as it was not here publicly.
That’s fine, but my suggestions are none of your business.
Did you not see me listing Alabama, before your post? Do your own search. and post away.

All I am saying is post yours away and keep it moving. Anyway… so much time wasted on responding to you. It’s about OP.
So…keep it to that.

@Libellula97‌

what is your major? Fin aid is critical but make sure your college also academically attracts you.

again, unless the public university has quite a large fund like BAMA does, don’t look at the public schools.

TBH I think you are competitive enough for Ivies.

Another thing to take into consideration is campus culture - ie., a practicing Muslim may have trouble with the social scene at Washington&Lee, a student seeking an intellectual campus wouldn’t fit in well at Drexel - and to a lesser degree whether you need accomodations (dietary/religious needs in particular - ie., a vegetarian Hindu may need to check the quality of vegetarian food, a student who’s never seen snow or sub-50 temperatures may want to make sure s/he is fine with the a shock likely to be experienced in North or South Dakota, etc.)
If you are a Christian believer interested in secular schools with a strong Christian presence, Wake Forest and Furman should be very good choices - but if not, it can be an uncomfortable environment even today for some atheist, Muslim, and Jewish students as well as LGBTQ kids (depends how thick-skinned you are of course.)
