Help! Teacher recommendations?

Okay, well I know this is bad and all, but I'm one of those quiet people in class who never really participates. As a result, I'm far from being a standout student and I've never really gotten to know any of my teachers particularly well. However, I've always been very studious and gotten good grades, and just been a nice student in general. But, I'm afraid, all of the teachers I've had think of me as "just another average, boring, good student".

Now I've realized that this has kind of screwed me over, because I have no idea which of my teachers would write me a good letter of recommendation for colleges. I'm scared that if I ask any of them, they'd be like "I'm sorry, I can't write it for you, I don't know you well enough". Not only would that make me feel horrible, but I'd be left without any letters of recommendation to send to colleges.

I see no possible solution to this predicament I've gotten myself into.
Does anyone have any advice?

Write up a brief resume about your interests, goals and activities. When you go to ask a teacher, show them that you’ve provided them with something to help them write your rec. While it won’t guarantee a better rec, it may make them more amenable to writing you one at all since you’ve taken the time to provide them with some information about yourself.

Good luck!
