HELP! Teachers aid vs AP class.

Hi, I'm a Junior in HS right now, taking 2 AP classes and 1 honors. Basically freshman year I messed up with a "C" and sophomore year I got B's and A's with 1 AP, 1 Honors class.

Next year I was thinking of going all out:

AP Calculus BC
AP Physics
AP Government Econ
AP Literature
AP Statistics
Piano II/Advance

To raise my GPA.

My piano teacher asked me to be his TA next year. He has a doctorate in music from USC. Benefits...

He will pay me in iTunes giftcards/money/other giftcards every week or so. ($15-$20)

Another period to practice piano.

I get to turn off the monitors of those who are off-task on their computer, and turn them in. (fun!)

He said I can study/do homework whenever I want in the class since I have AP classes.

But I'm afraid:

Colleges will think I slacked off. I was thinking of dropping AP stats for this chance.

Any advice?

If you like piano, definitely do it. Prove that it wasn’t a slack-off class with a well-written recommendation from your teacher.

That shows a certain amount of aptitude, responsibility, conentration, and leadership.

You shouldn’t give a care. Do what your passion tells you. If you like piano and want to do it later in life, take the job. If you like to be intellectually stimulated/legitimately like the subjects take the AP classes. Colleges will respect that you chose to do something that you believed rather than something you felt apathetic for.

It’s a no-brainer, go with the Piano thing, you seem to like it and have enough APs.

Do it. Maybe he will give you a nice rec

Dooooo it. You know you want to.

Do it. Passion trumps GPA increase.
