I have four really good recommendation letters from my teachers. When I filled out the Common App, they said they would fill out the forms there. But two of them haven't even been to the site yet - I sent and resent them, as reminders - and I am getting down to the last minute with American. I have a week left, applying test optional and the recommendations NEED to be in there. One of my teachers says "she's been busy". It's not like they have to do anything other than click where it says they want to be an "offline provider" so my counselor can send their letters. But they JUST WON'T DO IT. Sorry, it's frustrating.

I can't take their names off the CA, can I? If so, how? I don't know what to do. This is also happening with a scholarship I am applying for, and it's really upsetting.

Your own words are stronger than an e-mail reminder. Go talk to them in person and give off the impression that the completion of the recs. are important and that a deadline is coming up.

My son took his rec teacher, also a notorious last-minute rec writer, some flowers with a brief reminder note. I did not know he was going to do this and heard about it “after the fact” from some of his friend’s parents. Fortunately, it was well-received from this particular teacher, as noted by a nice e-mail from them.

Yeah, I would suggest talking to your teachers in person, and reminding them about the application. If they already have the recommendation, they won’t mind going on commonapp to submit it.

I will try…have already talked to the one, she has still to do them. The other I will see in the morning.

Is there any way to change them on the CA, if they still won’t do it after I talk to them?? I don’t want to “tell” on them. But still, it’s not right that they say they will and then they don’t.
