Help this berkeley noob with... stuff

Stuff being telebears, just like every other post
Im a spring admit, and being a noob I didnt take the best classes this semester at JC
so im going into cal with math 1a/1b, 1st half R&C, and 2 breadths down.
I'm thinking of going pre-haas so my ideal schedule would be:
econ 1
music 20a
nutrisci 10
german r5b
pe 2 (volleyball)

I just realized how much nov 5 phase 1 sucks so.... what are some reccomendations out there for me? what should i phase 1, what are some backup classes (specifically for the 2nd half RC requirement?), and should i take another class to fulfill the Haas lit requirement?

JUST GIMME ANY KINDA ADVICE/CRITICISM ABOUT ANYTHING YEAHHH!

btw: my potential backup major if haas doesnt workout might be ORMS...

i’m not haas but i did take nut sci 10 and econ
you’re gonna have to study a bit for econ cus the competition is fierce!!! jk jk
nut sci is very doable if you study the material (powerpoint)
you might want to sign up for music and econ first…

music econ okay…
when you say its fierce, and then you add the jk jk… what do u mean? lawl
what are some alternative 2nd half RC classes i can take that are easy/minimal work if i cant get into german r5b?

for econ, the material isn’t hard to understand but grading is picky… so getting a good score isn’t easy for the tests, also because there are a lot of pre-haas students, competition is difinitely there,
i only recommended econ for the first phase b/c i knew some people who signed up for the 2nd telebears phase and was waitlisted pretty far down the list…

as an alternative to german r5b, why don’t you take scandinavian r5b, it’s known to be one of the easiest r&C classes

what about of these for the haas lit req? http://www.haas.berkeley.edu/Undergrad/pdf/literaturewritingcourseslist.pdf

eal 105. oh boy.

…oh boy?

resurrecting this thread.
What classes should i phase 1? is german still a possibility for me?
most of the sections are now waitlisted to 8 or 9, so if im lucky, ill get mayb 10, is it likely ill get the class? what about scandanavian r5b with a waitlist of 7?
if both these classes are going to be quite unlikely, can are some alternatives?

and how does this load look? im considering adding on a seminar or another breadth…

German takes 1-2 really lucky people off the waitlist.
Try a breadth class and take the r&cb later on.

oh boo hoo :frowning:
is RC class over summer a good idea? or is it gonna be like, just the same amount of work cept fired at your quicker and more painful-er?
what about an easy Haas lit class that i can take (any reccomendations?)

summer classes are identical to school year, just at a faster pace. if you do german, it’s still going to be really easy.

okay ill go ahead and take stat + german over the summer

can anyone give me advice on how to handle having ORMS as a backup major? seems pretty tricky…

when i took german r5a. my instructor took 5 or 6 from the waitlist

hey guys! my telebears is today! i need a easy breadth class (IS OR PV) to balance my schedule. any suggestions? please help! thanks!

ditto on CF!'s hijacking question =]

@ 88888888
wow 5 or 6? ughhh… im tempted to still give the class a shot, but im sure by the time my telebears rolls around the waitlist will be at 9 or full.

do u guys think its worth waiting on RC if it means ill be taking a easier class later compared to a harder one now?
