I've gotten into both Hofstra and UConn, my first choice has always been UConn as it is a better school. But, I'm a little worried about a few things. First off I was immediately accepted to the business school at Hofstra, but not yet at UConn. I'm worried that if I don't get into the business school at UConn I might be basically wasting four years of tuition for a basic liberal arts degree, when I could've gotten the business degree at Hofstra. So I would like to know if anyone specifically knows what are the usual general GPA requirements etc. to get into the business school. Also I am an OOS student, and I know after 2 years you basically have to be put into a lottery for housing. How hard/expensive is it to find housing off campus if you do not get selected. It would suck to have to transfer out simply because I have nowhere to live after my 2nd year.

Close to 80% of UConn’s undergraduate student body lives on campus. You shouldn’t have an issue if you really want to stay on campus all 4 years. Though I don’t know for sure.

If business is all you’re interested in, then that’s a tough call and you need to ask yourself if you really want it at UConn. But keep in mind that you may very well change your intended major anyway.

Also, what is the cost difference?

UConn ends up being a little bit cheaper I think Hofstra will end up being about $3,000 more per year. I’m kind of leaning towards UConn just because the school is much better, and I am kind of undecided toward my major. Right now I really do want to study business though, but I also was thinking of physical therapy (I know, two completely different fields). But, I’m pretty sure I will end up doing something in business, I just have to make myself stand out upon the plenty of other applicants for the business program at UConn.
