Hello, lady and gentlemen CCs,
I'm going to be junior in Sep. And I'm going to self-study AP Physics B, (cuz my school doesn't provide AP Physics courses).
【But there are a few things confusing me:】
【1. How should I register for the AP test? (my school has other AP courses)】
【2. After signning up for the test, what are the wise ways to self study it? (like what kind of books to use, what of practise tests should be self-taken?)】
【3. To earn the college credits, is the AP Physics test score enough? Do I need to do some lab work to earn it?】

【Best wishes to all of us, the assiduous students; thanks a million!】

Talk with the AP Coordinator at your school. Get his/her approval to administer the exam. Depending on the flexibility/willingness of your school, you may be able to take the exam alone at your school or you may have to go to a nearby school to take it. At our school, anybody can pay for any AP test and they will be accommodated, but not all schools are this nice.

Know the equations sheet like you know your phone number.

I recently bought PR AP Physics B with the attempt to self-study and take the exam next May. The concepts really do not look that hard, but I’m still not positive I will take the exam.

Energize, Thanks for your link, I’ve read through you advice, sounds good. But I also noticed that there are people saying Physcis is hard, taking lots of time…

My concerns are: September, in when my junior year started, I will take AP Calculus (BC) and AP Chemistry courses at school,
so I’m afraid I will have not enough time for these 3 APs, and these 3 are not the easy kinds to handle.

So what do you think? Plz give me some cule~ Thanks a million!

(I have the Serway College Physics textbook at hand, I briefly read through it, found a good deal of formulas there, and most of them are strange to me ---- I’ve studied physics in China for 2~3 years)

I did AP Calculus BC and AP Physics B this year (along with 2 other APs). Though I know that China gives a lot more homework than the US (both my parents are Taiwanese; I’ve heard their stories about their schooling), I didn’t find it too challenging to keep up and understand the material (which is the same in all countries). You should be fine.

<know the=“” equations=“” sheet=“” like=“” you=“” know=“” your=“” phone=“” number.=“”></know>

Aren’t the equations sheet given during the AP exam ? Do we really need to memorise them?

thanks

^The equations sheet is given only for the FRQ’s, not the MC which makes up half of the exam.
