<p>i am a new transfer student to UCSD. recently I got the cancel admission letter from ucsd bc they did not receive my transcript from Taiwan before deadline, however, i did apply it and submit directly by that school before deadline the mail might missing during the international delivery... i am writing the appeal letter, but how to write a good one to make ucsd admission office to reopen my admission ... i am really afired even my case is not my fault at all, but how to make they withdraw the cancellation, i really think they won't care about u at all...</p>

<p>I respectfully wish to appeal your cancellation of my admission to your prestigious school.</p>
<p>Back on [date] you requested a high school transcript from [name of high school] here in Taiwan. Due to an error on the part of either the school in sending it as promised or the estimated time required for international delivery, the transcript was not received in a timely manner, and accordingly, my admission was cancelled.</p>
<p>I have now checked with both my school and with your UCSD admissions office to ensure that the transcript has now been received. I have also attached a copy with this letter for your convenience. While I admit that the transcript was not received by the date originally requested, I would ask that you reconsider your decision to cancel my admission since the reason for its late arrival was based upon an administrative error at the high school.</p>
<p>It has always been my dream to attend UCSD, and I would ask that you allow my admission to be based upon my academic efforts–over which I do have control–and not based upon the actions of others which I cannot control. I hope to be one of your best students and ask that you give me the chance to show you that I can excel in your [major] program.</p>

<p>[Be sure to attach a copy of your transcript–an unofficial one, obviously–just in case they can’t find the one at the school.]</p>
<p>Also, it’s obvious that English isn’t your first language–so let me give you a few helpful hints–just for your future studies.</p>
<p>(1) The spelling is “cancellation”, not “cancelation”. Use the website “dictionary.com” if you are in doubt about spelling.</p>
<p>(2) Whenever you are refering to something such as a car, a hand, a step–then the usage of “a” is appropriate. However, when refering to something that starts with a vowel–like “appealing letter”, “erroneous statement”, or “elephant”, then you don’t use “a”, but use “an” instead. So this means it is “an appealing letter”, “an erroneous statement”, or “an elephant”. </p>
<p>P.S. Good luck getting into UCSD and with your studies in the US or wherever you end up going to college.</p>
<p>I also have the same problem. I just got a letter stating that they have withdrawn my application due to the fact that they didn’t get my transcript in time. As I have remembered I turned it in on July 15 with my scholarship information and I think I might have been confused because they said that I turned it in to the scholarship department and that it is different with every department. Now I have to make an appeal for them to reopen my application.</p>

<p>If you search on cc, the same problem with uc’s is very common, whether it is local or overseas.</p>
<p>I have been admitted to UCR as a transfer student, but few days ago my application has been cancelled because I messed up the deadline month, so I’m trying to write an appeal letter. I have no idea how to write it, but if i explained them would they understand and accept me back? HELP :S</p>
