HELP! too many options-Future International student. MSE

Hi,
I've posted this in UIUC, idk if here would be better....

I'm form Spain and i'll be studying in the US during the next spring semester (hopefully). I have been given many options about where to study, and I have to choose my placement interests.
I am styudying Materials Engineering, so I'm looking for the best university in this area of interest, but, since I'm staying just for one term, I also want to enjoy the lifestyle, so good campus environment is also important!
I don't have to pay for the tuition because I will be enrolled on an exchange program, so the only "worries" about the money are the room and board.

So, here they go:

University of Urbana Champaign

University of Georgia (@ Atlanta)

illinois institute of technology (@ chicago)

colorado school of mines (@ golden)

olin college of engineering (@ needham, MA)

rensselaer polythecnic institute (@ troy, NY)

university of connecticut (@ Storrs)

I plan to choose the best three, so HELP ME pLEASE!!

I think UIUC is the best of these, isn't it? but i don't know if I will be accepted there, my academic advisor told me it's difficult.

Thanks in advance!

The Colorado School of Mines campus isn’t known for great enviroment, exactly. But it’s located in a very beautiful area. Do you like the outdoors, mountains? If so you’ll be happy there. You’re an hour-and-a-half away away from world-class skiing/snowboarding. Great hiking all around. Downtown Denver is 20 minutes away - it’s a very nice medium-size American city with good restaurants and bars. (Though don’t forget the legal drinking age in the US is 21. Most students have no problem with getting fake IDs… but clearly that’s not exactly legal.) About half an hour away is Boulder, the main University of Colorado campus with over 25 thousand students. It’s a lovely, lively and very colorful college town. Colorado has over 300 days a year of sunshine and although the winters are mild compared to the eastern US, it does get cold and snowy.
Bottom line - Mines is respected but not exactly a “fun” school. (Are any engineering schools?) But “fun” isn’t far away, either. And if you like mountain sports, Colorado could be paradise.
