Help ... Transfer to CSUF -Accoutning

I've been at a cc for a few years, off and on, and I just recently started to pick things up and dedicate myself to school again. I'm 23, and majoring in accounting. I have completed all my transfer requirements with the exception of 1 math class which I will be finishing next sememster.

With all classes completed, I only have a 2.5 GPA, which is a huge increase from what I started with. My very first sememster, I recieved two "F's" on my transcript, and rather than making them up, I took another class that filled the requirements.

My question is, will I be able to get into CSUF after completing my last math class with this GPA? I want to get my degree in accounting. What can I do?

Thank you,

Anyone? What are my chances?

can I just ask, no offensive intended, how on earth you only got a 2.5 at a community college?

But, for the record, you’re fine. Cal States will take pretty much anything above a 2.0

No offense taken.

Basically, just slacking off the first couple years. I started working full-time, thinking I could just move up the corporate ladder in accounting. I then woke up and realized what I was doing. After talking to a few people, I’m back in school and dedicated.

I should have re-taken the classes that I did bad in, but I instead took another class that would fill the requirement for my general education, so the bad grades are still on my transcript making the GPA upward climb slower.

Anyways, thank you for the response. I’m taking 2 classes now and 1 class next semester to finish and I should hopefully get an “A” in those classes. Thanks again!

you know, you could try and stay another year and really study and get your gpa up to a 3.0 which would open up the doors to a bunch of UC’s. You seem like you can do better than a cal state.

Why don’t you retake those classes you failed and get academic renewal? Fulfilling a GE is not very important, but losing the F’s is.

You woke up, but are going to settle for a random CSU? The UCs are very easy to get into if a student is sufficiently motivated. Just get your GPA up and TAG to a campus.

I’ve been at this cc for so long that I just want to transfer out and graduate with my accounting degree.

And I’m not really just picking a random CSU. CSUF has an excellent accredited accounting program and the recruiting from the schools is great as well. I have several friends who went there and landed jobs before they even graduated.
