HELP!! Transfer to NYU-Poly for Computer Science ASAP? (NYIT vs. Rutgers)

I'm a high school senior and I applied for the Mechanical Engineering program at NYU-Poly. Unfortunately, I got rejected for the the fall semester of 2014.

I thought I had a good chance - I'm in the top 20% of my school, have mostly honors/AP classes, I'm female, a lot of extra-curricular activities, good recommendation letters, weighted GPA of 3.8/4.6. However, I can also see why I did not get accepted - I didn't do that great in some of my honors science and math classes (as in C's and C+'s), didn't take physics (offered as an elective into my school and couldn't fit into my schedule), 1810 on SAT's, and maybe my essays were not as great as I thought. I understand that it is my own fault I didn't try my best and that I got what I deserved. I'm so distraught that I didn't get into NYU-Poly because it was my #1 choice school.

I got accepted into the College of Arts and Sciences at Rutgers University, but not the College of Engineering and I'm positive it's because I didn't take physics in school since it's a requirement. I also got accepted at NYIT (Manhattan Campus) with a presidential scholarship.

Now I'm thinking that if I didn't do that great in science (hated chemistry and biology), maybe engineering isn't for me. I was also thinking about doing Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering, but now I'm really leaning towards Computer Science. I really do love math, but unfortunately my math teachers were tough during certain years. I'm also very interested in programming (I don't know why this didn't occur to me before - better now than later).

SO TO THE POINT:
1. Now that I'm thinking of changing my intended major, does that effect my chances of transferring into the school?
2. Which school will give me a better chance at getting into NYU-Poly - NYIT or Rutgers? I love NYIT's campus and the city so much more than Rutgers, but I feel like Rutgers has a more reputable program.
2. How soon should I apply to transfer if I get at least a 3.5 GPA for each semester it takes? I read the NYU transfer page and it says that their most competitive applicants have 32 credits. However, I know that NYU-Poly isn't totally "NYU" yet. Also, I thought I had a good chance of getting in for the fall semester, but I'll be sure to improve. Do you think I can make it into the Spring Semester of 2015?

I want to graduate from NYU-Poly so bad, I loved the school from when I visited and I have friends that go there. I'm willing to do whatever it takes. Any comments or help will be appreciated.

As far as I know NYU’s computer science program is part of the College of Arts and Sciences, not NYU-Poly.
That being said, I don’t know enough about either school to give you good advice on which to choose.

EDIT: Actually I just checked. I’m confused - under the NYU CS website it lists that it is under the College of Arts and Sciences, but in the Poly website it lists CS as one of its departments. Does anybody know the distinction?

Bump

Hey, i also think about transfer to the nyu poly. Although i rejected from the CAS this fall term, i wanted to change my major to engineering. I got accepted from other schools and i want to prepare transfer to NYU poly. Is it possible to transfer to NYU poly in sophomore year?
