Hey guys,
Is it possible to transfer from ILR to AEM after my first year?

i wll be taking french as my elective and swim conditioning as my PE class.

what should my fall and spring schedule look like this year if i want to transfer?

also im attending prefreshman summer program so which classes should i sign up for?

While normally internal transfers aren’t all that complicated, getting into AEM is comparatively harder because admissions is so competitive for a relatively small program. Kind of ironic because once you are actually at Cornell, AEM loses its prestige and is one of those that you will be scoffed at if you complain about the workload.

I would say take as many AEM classes as possible and make sure you are getting A’s in them (which shouldn’t be too hard). Talk to your advisor as well. They are legitimately there to help and if they can’t help, they should be able to point you to someone who can.

lol…it gets better, trust me. but if you want to transfer, make sure to take both intro econ classes, and stats + aem 1200 2nd semester OR look into the cornell/aem business certificate.

Also take a science class first semester as that is a CALS distribution requirement.

Make sure you fulfill all these requirements before applying. [Charles H. Dyson School: Transfer Admissions](<a href=“Applied Economics and Management Degree Program | Cornell Dyson”>Applied Economics and Management Degree Program | Cornell Dyson)

Also, the more AEM classes you have under your belt (with good grades of course), the greater your chances of being accepted into the program. I have heard that it is harder to get into AEM at the end of your freshmen year vs. at end of your sophomore year. You are welcome to apply as many times, but if you don’t get accepted at the end of your freshmen your, don’t give up.

What’s the average gpa for internal transfers
