I have been accepted to Minnesota B.F.A acting program and University of Cincinnati CCM drama and I should hear back from depaul within the next few days.

I have visited Minnesota and CCM and I loved them both. The students did as well.
I don't know how students feel at depaul, i'm finding that it's hard to find out anything online about Depaul besides the cut program (which they no longer have).

Basically I want to know your opinions/warnings about U of M, CCM and Depaul
Good and bad.

This is a hard decision to make. Help!

DePaul actually does still have the cut program…I have actor friends there that are going through the process right now. DePaul is my top choice and I stayed overnight there! It was so great. I didn’t apply for acting, though, so the cut wouldn’t apply to me. :)

They have one as of now, but starting next school year they are accpeting 32 people flat. thankfully

WOW congrats actingchick. That is awesome. You have a tough decision ahead. But I can tell you this, if you are leaning more towards a “theatre career” and if you get into DePaul, I would say go with them. CCm is ore known for their Musical Theatre dept. but in recent years have had some success with their Alumni In movies and tv. Sorry we are on the Easst coast and I don’t know much about the UofM program. Again Congrats. And you are correct - there will be no more cut program at DePaul starting with the incoming Freshmen. Mr D is hoping to hear good news from them.

I get the feeling that DePaul is going to be climbing back into that top echelon of most desirable BFAs now that they’ve done away with that archaic cut system. A year ago, I would have said hands down UM Guthrie. Now it’s a choice between what I understand to be a more contemporary based program at DePaul culminating in industry showcases in Chicago, New York and LA versus a classically based program with a “Here’s your degree - Break legs in the biz” from the Guthrie. I say check into how your financial aid and scholarship packages will stack up. Guthrie’s sticker price is lower, but DePaul has a history of being pretty generous that way. Remember that minimal or no debt will be a very good friend to you after graduation …
