Help! U.S. History or Physics

Hey guys. I'm signed up to take SAT II U.S. History this saturday, but you're allowed to change subjects on the test date. Here's my dilema: I took biology-M and got 790, Math II and got 780, and I want to keep the high scores up. The thing is, I know I can nail the physics and get an 800, while U.S. History I'm really not sure about. I have AP U.S. Friday and AP Physics B Monday, so I'm prepping for both. The question is, should I have SAT IIs consisting of only science and math with really high scores (780, 790, 800 possibly), or have a science, math, and history (780, 790, and around a 740 on history)? Which would look better? Thanks!

A History one would look better; colleges like to see that you have a broad breadth of knowledge.

Unless you're applying to CIT or MIT or any other primarily Math school, which in that case they really would like to see the higher Math scores of couse.

i disagree completely.... if you can score an 800 in any subject test that is definately better than a 740. Colleges may think your a little bit more diverse if you take U.S. History, but in the long run it doesn't matter. They will invariably look at your scores, and the numbers you attained. Go for physics 800 BABY!!!

Take BOTH. Don't over-analyze CB's horrible, one-page score report policy that is sent to colleges, assuming that you will be punished for one low(er) score. Most senior AOs will only see your highest scores after an assistant AO creates a summary sheet. The AOs have more important things to consider like picking a balanced pool of admits...IMOH it is all hype!

I'd take US History. IMO, its better to cover a diverse range of topics.

Take both if you can, but if not, shoot for the higher score. Show them what you know. Depends where you'll be applying, your major, and so on.

Well, I just took AP U.S. History today and I probably either got a 4 or 5, which is going to be seen by whatever colleges I apply to. Even with a 4, won't they still view me as a student who excells in many topics, besides math and science?

You are allowed to take up to 3 subject tests on any given day. You're able to add an additional test on the day you take it, and are later billed for it. If I were you, and you were willing/able to pay the extra $15-20, I would take both Physics and US History. That couldn't hurt, could it?
