Ok, do senior year grades count in admissions at all? I asked my counselor and she said yes. From other sources, I've heard that it doesn't change your GPA--however, colleges will see an upward trend. I've also heard that you need a 3.0 and that's it. And I've also heard of augmented review.

If I get all As this semester, I will get a 5.0. However, I will not put in the effort that will ultimately suck a lot of humanity out of myself just to achieve that, if it counts for nothing.

Any help? Thanks.

For UCs? It doesn't count. Well, as long as you don't get something horrendous like straight Cs, it shouldn't count.

Second semester, however, if you're admitted into a UC, you have to maintain a 3.0 weighted GPA.

Ok so I should slack? Wow this college admissions thing is fu<ked up...one entire year not even counting...oh well.

LOL Slack but not too much ;D

Just get decent grades first semester to be safe (if by chance they want you to send in a mid-term report, which I doubt).

Well, I am really hell bent on going to UCLA (I'm not going to be emotionally scarred if i dont get inthough)

But I feel I have it in me to get a 5.0. If it turns out for nothing though, I will probably go on a rampage and you will see me on the evening news. So I hope it will count =]

I heard of two people who filled out the supplemental thing at our school last year. Is it that common? What can I do to increase my chances of getting it?

HEHE good luck then!

Hm, what supplemental thing? You mean the essay?

The augmented review.
