Hey there everyone! I am attending UCLA in the fall and there wasn't much info on summer sessions online! It says applying for financial aid for continuing students was April 30th but new and transfer students will be considered on time without a solid due date written. I had almost completed the financial aid app on April 30th but felt uncomfortable adding how many units I wanted to take because I did not know how to enroll or how the process works if I end up not taking the course! Can anyone help out? Thanks

Same here help??

Really, us new students have an extension? Do you have a source for that? I was scrambling to get mine in before the deadline and ended up putting 5 units after browsing the class schedule for the summer session.

According to the Summer Sessions PDF “Step 2. Complete a Summer Aid Application
Summer Aid Applications will be available at www.financialaid.ucla.edu on April 1. Continuing students
must complete the application by April 30 to be considered on time. Entering students will be treated as
on-time, as long as they submitted their FAFSA or DREAM Act application by March 2” I’m assuming we are entering students but its vague

@k4201505 yeah me too! But I was too afraid to put down a unit count I was unsure of and did not know how to enroll :(

Priority deadline was April 30th, but the latest you can file is September 5th

@burntcorpse But according to the PDF it mentions that’s the deadline for continuing students as I quoted above

Warning!!! Financial aid for the summer session is a little weird.

a) you will get less grants (more loans will be offered instead)

b) when you tell them the number of units always overestimate since its impossible increase your units.
for ex: if you say 8 units and take 10 units you will get Fin Aid only for 8 units
however sign up for 12 units but only take 9 units it becomes easier to reduce units.

only take summer classes if you are planning to take upper division, only take lower division units if there is a class that is not offered at the local community college.
